Always In Our Hearts
For Jimmy
You were a tender little boy
who became a fine young man.
Your handsome face was quick to smile
(and laughter followed).
You always shared your precious warmth with everyone.
But despair crept into your life and bade you leave it,
and though our cries have pierced the heavens,
you are gone.
We long to see you once again.
We want to hold you in our arms
until the tears you cannot shed have gone away.
To hold you only in our hearts is not enough,
but always in our hearts is where you’ll be.
